What is the difference between the two courses?
AI for Beginners at Work starts with everyday chat, writing, revision, and document-support tasks. AI-Powered Professional moves into context, memory, agent workflows, and the controls around more advanced AI work. The bundle gives you both, so you can build the basics and then the system around them.
Why take both courses together?
The beginner course builds the habit of asking for a useful draft, revising it in plain language, and checking it against the facts. AI-Powered Professional builds on that habit with the context, memory, loops, and checks that make AI work reliable when the task is bigger than a single draft.
Is this suitable if I have only used ChatGPT personally?
Yes. AI for Beginners at Work begins with the basic conversation steps and applies them to familiar work tasks. You do not need experience using AI for your job.
Do I need to write code?
No. You do not need a software-development background, and you will not be asked to learn a programming language. In AI-Powered Professional, the AI can generate commands and explain what they do. Your job is to define the work, direct it, inspect the evidence, and verify the result.
Why can AI sound confident and still be wrong?
The first week of AI for Beginners at Work covers how an AI Chat Assistant produces its answers and why it can sound confident and still be wrong. You practice spotting invented details and checking a draft against the facts before you use it.
What is AI Engineering?
Prompting is the first layer. Context determines what the model knows, memory and state carry the work across steps, loops control what happens next, and the harness checks the result. AI-Powered Professional teaches you to engineer the complete workflow rather than keep polishing a single prompt.
What is context engineering?
Most of what makes AI useful is not how you ask but what the AI knows when you ask. You learn the three places context lives, which are memory, knowledge stores, and live connectors, and how to give the AI the background it needs up front so it stops guessing.
What tools will we use?
Bring the AI tool you actually use. Both courses stay tool-agnostic on purpose, so the concepts transfer to whatever you or your employer already run. Demos use one tool so you can see the whole thing work end to end, and the equivalents are named as we go.
Can I practice with real client information?
Class exercises use fictional information. For real work, follow your employer’s rules and get the appropriate approval before putting client, personal, or confidential information into any AI tool.
What do I leave with?
From AI for Beginners at Work, a personal work kit of saved instructions, reviewed examples, and checklists. From AI-Powered Professional, a Prompt Pack built for your industry in the AI Workflow Builder, a LABS brief every week, and the demo files to rerun the session examples yourself.
How do the bonuses work?
AI for Beginners at Work includes its on-demand course and the AI Glossary for Work. Each week, Mike recommends on-demand lessons that go deeper on that week’s live topics, and the glossary is there whenever a term comes up in class or at work.
What happens at the Friday office hours?
The optional office hours run Fridays, October 9, 16, and 23, from 2 to 3 PM Central, shared across the October Velza Academy cohorts. Each session covers job-market intel, including what employers are asking for in AI roles in the Velza AI Job Search Tool, plus open Q&A. Office hours are recorded too.
What if I cannot attend a session live?
Every session in each course is recorded and shared. You keep access to the replays for a full year, so you can watch or rewatch on your own schedule.
What if I enroll after the first class?
You join the next live session and catch up on the earlier sessions with the replays, which arrive with your welcome email.
Can I use a coupon code?
No. The bundle price already covers both courses, so coupon codes do not apply to it.
Do I get a certificate for each course?
Yes. When each course ends, you receive a personalized certificate of completion by email. It shows your name, the course, the live session dates, and the hours of live instruction, with a public verification link your employer can confirm it against.
What is your refund policy?
Our Terms explain refunds, including the full-refund window until 24 hours after the first live session starts.
